ATTRACTIONS IN FEDERAL WAY
The town of Federal Way is about 20 miles south of Seattle, and you can enjoy a more relaxed, quieter approach to life in the Pacific Northwest. Annual Festivals
Federal Way hosts the annual Northwest Sand Festival each year, and the festival takes place from the middle of August to early September. The town hosts sand sculpting artists from all over the world to create artwork out of the sand. The event also has activities and special events like sculpting classes for amateurs, sand sculpting contests for children, a gigantic kids sandbox, and live bands. Nature Attractions
You can explore Steel Lake Park if you’re looking for outdoor fun. You can also canoe or swim in the lake. The park also features a walking trail, horseshoe pits, a skate park, and a few beach volleyball pits. You can also enjoy more than 83 acres of outdoor recreation space at Celebration Park. On the western border of Federal Way off Puget Sound is the biggest beach in town at Dash Point State Park. You can bike trails, explore over 11 miles of hiking, camp in the park, swim, or relax on the beach.
