LeMay – America’s Car Museum
The LeMay- America’s Car Museum has 350 cars and features a wide range of car eras and manufacturers. The place offers the opportunity to see race cars from Ferrari to Lotus and a 1966 Ford Mustang, 1932 Packard, 1929 Cadillac, 1926 Ford Model T pickup, 1913 Daimler, and 1953 Citroen. In South Tacoma, where the American Lake is located, is also the community of Lakewood. As the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife has been keeping the lake stocked with kokanee, rainbow trout, other natural populations of brown bullhead catfish, coastal cutthroat, largemouth, rock bass, and yellow perch, it has become a famous place for fishing. You will have available a two-lane concrete boat launch provided by the Department of Fish & Wildlife. You will also have lovely clean water to swim with restrooms, picnic tables, and benches available. Fishing enthusiasts, picnickers, sunbathers, and swimmers are all attracted to the beaches on the two public parks on the lakeshore.
